Day One
8:00 - Opening Session
8:00 - Introduction to the Seasons of Growth & the True Growth Model
Goal: Clear understanding of the four "Seasons of Growth" and understand its benefits to the organization; tie model into "Full Engagement"
Exercises: Participants take the Readiness for Change Assessment and Energy Assessment; openly share at table
9:15 - Break
9:25 - Exploring the Behavioral Competencies of an Authentic Leader
Goal: Clear understanding of the definition of authenticity and the characteristics of an authentic leader
10:15 - Values: The Core to Your Success
Goal: Numerous case studies presented of value driven and value vacuum leadership. Participants understand the value of possessing clear personal values
10:45 - Personal Values Exercise
Participants work within a framework to identify five individual core values; openly share at table and with entire group
11:20 - Break
11:30 - Team Values Exercise
Participants work within a framework to identify five team values; openly share at the table and with the entire group. Gain consensus on the top five for the group.
12:00 - Lunch
12:45 - Understanding Your Interpersonal Style
Goal: Leaders complete "Working Differently with Different People" assessment. Identify the four interpersonal styles as well as understand how to best relate to each of them. This exercise will also serve to provide an early connecting experience for the leaders and identify a key inhibitor to social fitness - communication with different styles and how to relate to them.
1:45 - Feedback Management: How to Give and Receive Feedback Goal: Participants learn the basic guidelines for providing and receiving constructive feedback in order to improve self-awareness
2:30 - Team Challenge Exercises
Participants work outdoors through one challenging task within teams with leaders receiving plus/delta feedback immediately after completing the exercise. Leaders and team members practice the discipline and skill of providing candor to each other. Many practical leadership lessons are derived from these exercises.
3:30 - Behaviors: Bringing Your Values to Life
Goal: Understand the value and benefits of exercising a set of behaviors to put values into daily practice
Exercise: Identify one personal behavior for each personal Value; dialogue with others.
4:30 - End Day One
Day Two
8:00 - Your Life Story: Looking into Your Rear-view Mirror
Goal: Understand the positive influences and crucibles in our lives that mold our values and behaviors.
Exercise: Leaders identify at least three positive influences/crucibles in their lives and their impact. A personal "life story" graph is initiated. Emphasis is placed on the power of sharing one's story with others.
9:15 - Your Personal Purpose: Your Guiding Light
Goal: Emphasize the value of living with a purpose, the challenge to focus a life in order to leave an enduring and satisfying legacy, framing a "life story"
Exercise: Participants will draft their personal purpose statement and share it with others
10:15 - Break
10:25 - Action Planning
Goal: Present the principles of action planning; provide Action-planning examples.
Exercise: Leaders draft a professional action plan and select an "Accountability Buddy" to work with for the next three months.
11:30 - Closing Session
Includes a motivational story about the power of a crucible shaping one's values and life's purpose.
Goal: Leaders reflect on the session, provide feedback and complete an evaluation of the program.
12:00 - Session Ends
